# LSPD – Probation Period

All new members of the Los Santos Police Department will be subject to a 1-week probation period.

The probation period is intended to give the LSPD leadership the opportunity to evaluate new Officers during active duty and determine whether they are reliable, follow the rules, and are suitable for permanent service within the LSPD.

§1 – Duration of the Probation Period

The probation period generally lasts 1 week from the day of acceptance into the LSPD.

After the week has ended, the LSPD leadership will decide whether the probation period has been successfully completed.

§2 – Conduct During the Probation Period

During the probation period, particular attention will be paid to the following:

* Activity
* Reliability
* Teamwork
* Conduct toward other players and Officers
* Knowledge of and compliance with the LSPD rules
* Following instructions
* Behavior during operations and checks

Officers on probation are expected to actively participate in the faction and contact a higher-ranking Officer if they are unsure about anything.

§3 – Rule Violations During the Probation Period

Violations of the LSPD rules will be taken especially seriously during the probation period.

Depending on the severity of the violation, the probation period may be:

* extended,
* combined with a warning,
* or terminated early.

Serious rule violations may also result in immediate removal from the LSPD.

§4 – Activity

A sufficient level of activity within the faction is expected during the probation period.

Anyone who is barely active or not active at all during the probation period may fail to complete it successfully.

§5 – Passing the Probation Period

After the week has ended, the LSPD leadership will evaluate the Officer.

The probation period is considered successfully completed if the Officer has made an overall positive impression and has met the expectations of the LSPD.

After successfully completing the probation period, the member will be fully accepted into the LSPD and promoted to Rank 2.

§6 – Extension of the Probation Period

If no clear decision can be made after the week has ended, the LSPD leadership may extend the probation period.

An extension does not automatically mean rejection. It simply gives the Officer additional time to prove themselves.

§7 – Final Provision

The probation period is intended to show whether a member is a good long-term fit for the LSPD and is capable of taking responsibility within the faction.

Anyone who works reliably, follows the rules, and contributes positively to the faction should have no problems passing the probation period.
